New Balance has spent the better part of January expanding on the550'scatalog. More styles are continuing to surface, such as this newly-revealed, women’s exclusive “University Blue” colourway.
Likely somewhat inspired by the UNC Tar Heels, the New Balance 550 “University Blue” brings the basketball oxford a bit closer to its roots. The light blue takes the helm at various points, highlighting fixtures such as the “N” logo, outsole, and branding. Underneath, the base of the shoe is clad entirely in neutrals, with white painting the leather paneling, mesh inserts, tongue, midsole, and the like.
